Hello everyone! This is Jennifer with a new scrapbook layout featuring the June Hip Kits. This one started as something completely different but sometimes things just don’t work out as expected. I actually intended to create an art journal page but I had to bin that idea pretty fast.

When my original plan failed I decided to go with one of my trusted go-to-layout-designs. I pulled out a piece of white 12×12 cardstock and the June 2017 Color Kit. Using a flat and dry brush I put down some of the minty colored acrylic paint from the Vicki Boutin set. I really love the texture a dry brush creates on paper so this is one of my favortie techniques at the moment. I then used the stencil and the Shimmerz texture paste to add some of those super cute plus signs.

My layering pieces were already assembled when I created my background. I pretty much pulled apart all my kits to find the right papers and embellishments. That’s what I love most about Hip Kits – they fit together seamlessly. So I took papers from the June 2017 Main Kit and embellishments from both the June 2017 Embellishment and Project Life Kits. Mostly I used stickers from both Crate Paper and Bella Boulevard and die cuts from Vicki Boutin.

To give everything a bit of a softer look I added some vellum behind my photo and papers. Colorwise I tried to focus on the blue shades from both the papers and embellishments. But I added a few pinks and yellows as a contrast and some flecks of gold of course. I don’t remember when I last made a layout without some flecks of gold.

I finished of my page with a few of the exclusive button stickers and a bit of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold.
I love how this layout turned out! It’s colorful without being too busy. And I just love that picture of my cat Puck.
Thanks for stopping by and I will see you soon with a new project.
xoxo Jennifer
