Hi friends! I am so excited to share this colorful travel layout from the talented VALESKA GUIMARAES, created with the April 2026 Hip Kits. Valeska pulls together a warm orange, fresh teal, bold blue, and pops of pink palette into a happy layout celebrating her photos from Sacre-Coeur in Paris. The color story in this kit is absolutely everything, and Valeska shows you how to let it shine.
Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.
What I love about Valeska’s process is how she layers geometric patterned papers from the April 2026 Main Kit (with Patterned Paper), anchors the page with the April 2026 Grunge Brick Texture Background Metal Die in pink and yellow, and finishes everything off with a colorful mixed alphabet title and a beautiful diagonal embellishment flow. The April 2026 Cardstock Kit gives the perfect color-rich base to build it all on. Grab your April kits and let’s make some happy color magic together!
Step-by-Step Tutorial
Step 1: Gather Your April 2026 Hip Kit Supplies
Pull out your April 2026 Hip Kits along with the April 2026 Grunge Brick Texture Background Metal Die. Valeska is using the patterned papers, cardstock, embellishments, and alphabet stickers from the kit, plus the grunge brick texture die for those signature mixed media accents.
Step 2: Trim a C Shape from Your Yellow Cardstock
Cut a long L or C shape from a sheet of yellow patterned cardstock from the April 2026 Cardstock Kit, saving the inner rectangle for later use with the metal die. This little trim trick gets the most out of every sheet.
Step 3: Layer in Geometric Patterned Papers
Layer a strip of the teal arrow geometric paper and a soft floral pattern across the yellow base to start your background. Trim a sweet arrow strip and run it horizontally to point your eye right into the focal area of the page.
Step 4: Die Cut the Grunge Brick Texture
Use the April 2026 Grunge Brick Texture Background Metal Die to cut out brick texture pieces from pink and yellow cardstock. These die cut pieces become the textured background frame behind your photos.
Step 5: Position Your Photos with Foam Squares
Mat your travel photos and pop them up with foam squares so they sit raised off the background. Position them with a little tilt for that natural, casual scattered look that makes the page feel alive.
Step 6: Build the Title with Mixed Alphabet Stickers
Browse the alphabet sticker sheet from the April 2026 Main Kit (with Patterned Paper) and pull individual letters to build your title. Valeska went with ENJOY in mixed colors for a happy, eclectic vibe that matches the kit’s palette.
Step 7: Layer Travel-Themed Die Cuts and Tabs
Build a diagonal flow of travel embellishments around your focal point. Tuck in the every trip tells a story round tab, the Boarding Pass tag, chevron arrows, and small camera die cuts to lead the eye across the page.
Step 8: Add Colorful Rub-Ons and Puffy Accents
Finish the layout with a rub-on transfer of travel-themed words and icons, plus puffy stickers in coordinating colors. These final layers add that signature happy, busy, color-rich feel to the page.
