Unboxing: May 2026 Hip Kit Collection Reveal | Walkthrough with Jana Eubank

Hello friends, Kimberly here, and I am so excited to share this month’s unboxing with you. The wonderful Jana Eubank took us through the entire May 2026 Hip Kit Collection, called Simply Embrace the Moment, and oh my goodness, it is such a happy, summery collection.

Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.

Jana walked us through every single piece on her desk, from the 12 double-sided pattern papers and the coordinating Cardstock Kit, to the Pocket Life Kit with its 6×8 papers and cut-aparts, and of course one of our very favorites, the Embellishment Kit absolutely overflowing with die cuts, puffy stickers, foam stickers, and those gorgeous embossed gold foil pieces.

The colors are bright and cheerful, with sweet florals like Grandma’s Garden, fun page starters, and the most adorable little icons, birds, bicycles, and Vespa scooters.

Because so many of you asked last month, Jana also took the time to die cut every one of this month’s add-on dies so you can see exactly how they work, including the showstopper Concertina Rosette die. She even backtracked to cut out the April dies for everyone who wanted to see those too. To finish things off, she swatched the May Color Kit featuring Clownfish Coral, Pineapple Paradise, and Hydrangea Blue from Lindy’s Stamp Gang, and did some gorgeous color mixing along the way. Grab your favorite kit and let’s walk through it all together like we’re sitting at the craft table side by side.

What’s Inside the May 2026 Hip Kit Collection

Step 1: Tour the Pattern Paper Kit Front and Back

Start by laying out the pattern papers front side and back side next to each other, just like Jana does, so you can see how the 12 double-sided sheets in the May 2026 Main Kit with Patterned Paper coordinate. Going through them one by one, from Write Me and Grandma’s Garden to Stop and Enjoy the View, helps you see the size and scale of each pattern. Jana shared that this little ritual gets your creative juices flowing for what you might create with the kit.

Step 2: Spread Out the Embellishment Kit Die Cuts

Step 2: Spread Out the Embellishment Kit Die Cuts

Take the 50-piece cardstock die cut set from the May 2026 Embellishment Kit and spread the pieces out so you can see everything included. Pull out the largest pieces first, like the floral tags and journal blocks, then scatter the smaller banners, postage stamps, and labels on top. These shapes are perfect for finishing out the corners of your photos and building little vignettes.

Step 3: Flip Through the Coordinating Cardstock Kit

Step 3: Flip Through the Coordinating Cardstock Kit

The May 2026 Main Kit with Cardstock gives you 16 sheets of double-sided cardstock, with eight solid colors and a coordinating circle dot pattern on the back of each. Flip through the happy shades like Spring green, Horizon aqua, Daffodil yellow, and Tutu Pink. Since you get two of every color, this kit is fantastic for double page layouts, die cutting, matting photos, or using as a sturdy base.

Step 4: Explore the Pocket Life Cut-Apart Cards

Step 4: Explore the Pocket Life Cut-Apart Cards

The Pocket Life Kit in the May 2026 Main Kit with 6×8 Paper Pack includes fun cut-apart cards with different color options on the front and back. Lay out the 3×4 and 6×4 sheets so you can see the florals, color wheels, and Polaroid camera designs. Jana‘s tip here is to wait and decide which color works best as you build each project, and remember you can fussy cut the center of that camera or pop a photo right in.

Step 5: HKC Designs Edge Title Dies

Step 5: HKC Designs Edge Title Dies

Limited Edition Edge Title die set cuts the phrases real life, fun, and moments so they peek up above the edge of your paper. Die cut the phrase, line it up straight with your paper edge, then come back with scissors or a trimmer and cut in to the cut line. Be careful not to trim all the way through the letters, and you will have a fun title poking above a clean straight edge. Jana styled all three phrases for a quick preview.

Step 6: HKC Designs Messy Ink Die Set

Step 6: HKC Designs Messy Ink Die Set

The Messy Ink Die Set is a fun mixed media add-on with a 2 inch circle frame plus a collection of paint splatters, a brush stroke, and a tiny arrow piece. Die cut them in coordinating colors and layer them across your page for an instant mixed media look without breaking out the paints. Jana shows the cut pieces in a rich plum for a sneak peek.

Step 7: Assemble the Concertina Rosette

Step 7: Assemble the Concertina Rosette

Die cut four pieces of the Concertina Rosette die, fold them back and forth along the score lines, then glue the little tabs together and wrap the strip into a full circle. Use a quick drying glue like Art Glitter Glue, Nuvo, or even hot glue so it holds firmly once bent. Jana‘s clever trick is to flatten the rosette inside a jar lid, which holds the concentric circle shape in place while you glue a small circle die cut to the center to lock it together.

Step 8: Swatch and Mix the May Color Kit

Step 8: Swatch and Mix the May Color Kit

Finish by swatching the Color Kit, adding water to dissolve the powders in Pineapple Paradise, Clownfish Coral, and Hydrangea Blue from Lindy’s Stamp Gang. Work light to dark, and shake some powder into a mixing well so you can blend custom shades. Jana mixed blue with yellow for a jungly teal and blue with coral for a pretty stone gray, and the shimmery Hydrangea Blue was a clear favorite.
