Hello Hip kit fans and welcome back to another Thursday full of Inspiration! This week the designers are working with those fabulous photo frames from Vicki Boutin for American Crafts. Her entire line is fantastic and versatile, and these frames are screaming to be used on your next project!! Let’s see what Cara and Zinia came up with.
I’m in my bullet journal today and the Vicki Boutin frames are the perfect spots to write in items of a list. I wanted to have a list, a prettier version of a checklist, for all the projects I want to make over the summer. Each frame will have one project written inside.
I started off by gluing down some background pages and I used paper 14 from Paige Evans and fussy cut some of the scallops from her paper 17 and layered those on top. I was recently inspired by Paige on Instagram Stories (IG stories is my favourite social media right now!!). She had hand stitched in a mini album, on pages and on die cuts so I grabbed my frames and some of the Vicki Boutin die cuts and did some hand stitching myself. I added some stickers from sticker sheets from Dear Lizzy for American Crafts and Oasis for Crate Paper, then I layered the die cuts and frames on the pages. I used a ‘VACAY!’ sticker from the Oasis sheet and some of the exclusive Hip Kit Club alphas to write the title of the spread.
I love this big butterfly from the Vicki Boutin die cut pack and I think the gold thread is the perfect finishing touch. I love how other butterflies from other pages in my planner peek out behind it.
This little fox by Dear Lizzy was simply too adorable not to include!
I cut the ‘bucket list’ bit out of one of the exclusive Hip Kit Project Life cards and added it to the bottom of the spread. Since this is my crafty summer bucket list. I cut the two feathers from one of the June cutfiles by Kim Watson, I hand stitched on one of those as well and added them like bookends to my spread.
What are some of your crafty plans for the summer? Why not create a fun spread with these frames to house your list?

HAPPY PLANNING!
Hey there, I will finish this post with a really fun mixed media layout I created. Since I’m still working with my May kits, I created my own frames out of some pattern paper with the WeR Memory Keepers frame punch board but you can just recreate the same look using the Vicki Boutin frames from the June kits.
Once I had my frames arranged on the page the way I wanted, I traced the inside opening with a pencil to remember the placement. Then I grabbed my Prima watercolors and colored around my traced lines in coordinating colors. This way I added an extra border around my frames that makes them pop and gives them a fun watercolor look.
I adhered the frames with foam squares to give them more dimension and make them look more interesting as they overlap each other.
For the embellishing part I picked all the small embellishments I could find across all the kits and I used them to decorate my frames in matching colors. This is a really easy way to embellish your page by isolating color groups and color coordinate everything.
I basically used a little bit of every embellishment that came in the kits except from the chipboard cause they were a little bit too bulky and big for the look I was going for.
So that was it from me, I really hope you enjoyed all the projects today and got inspired to create something fun with your kits.
Until next time, happy crafting!
