Celebrate Spring | Adrienne Alvis

Good morning friends!  I’m so inspired by the change of season, weather, and the beautiful April Hip Kits that I couldn’t resist scrapping some recent photos of my daughter picking spring flowers near our house the other day.

I used the colors in my photographs as the inspiration for the colors in my layout.

I also used the yellow watercolor pencil available in the April 2015 Color Kit to outline the yellow circles on the patterned paper. I simply dipped the pencil in water and drew around the edges of the circles. It was so easy and really fun to add a bit of contrast to my patterned paper!

I also created a pocket to hide my journaling using the Amy Tangerine Die Cuts available in the April 2015 Main Kit.

To do this, all you need is a journaling tag, larger piece of patterned paper or die cut, and another piece of pattered paper to stitch it to.  I sized my yellow patterned paper piece at 3 1/2″ by 6″.

Next, simply stitch the medium sized piece of patterned paper (or a die cut like the pink one I used) along three sides using a sewing machine or by hand to the largest piece of patterned paper.

spring8Now you have a pocket to hide your journaling in!

I placed mine on the right-hand side of my layout and tucked my journaling inside.
