Hello Hip Kit friends !
First of all, happy Mother’s Day !!! I hope you are all well and will highlight this beautiful day in a way or in another in those difficult times.
Today is mood board inspired day and this May mood board created by the lovely Angela Tombari is just GORGEOUS !
I was immediately inspired by the overall color scheme of the moodboard and by the bottom left image showing horizontal pen and pencils in a rainbow order. Here is a step-by-step process for my page.
I decided to use a funny Easter photo of my son who, as you can very well deduct, is not a fan of photos…!
Everything on this page comes from the beautiful April 2020 kits.
So I chose my different patterned papers (paper kit) in a rainbow order and cut different sized horizontal stripes for my background. I also fussy cut one of the 4×6 cards from the Pocket Life kit to build my title and embellishments.
I used a white thick cardstock as my base for my page and did some watercolor splatters all over it in matching colors.
I decided to machine stitch the middle of each stripe with matching color thread for more interest and dimension, leaving the thread hang loosely on the sides.
I fussy cut a few stars from the Maggie Holmes Sweet Story Parfait paper to embellish the upper left side of my photo. I finished my title with the Pebbles Holographic Alphabet Thickers (Pocket Life kit) and did a little bit of journaling on a teared pocket life card.
Et voilà ! Quite easy I must say ! The linear background does it all !
Here are some other close-ups.
I hope it will inspire you in some way ! Lost your mojo ? Start with a sketch or a mood board and don’t overthink it. Isn’t it the best hobby ever ?
Stay safe, and have a wonderful day !
