Hello lovely ones. It’s Kylie back with you all today to share a brand new layout I have just created. It features lots of supplies from across all of the September kits. My assignment for this layout was to use multiple cut files. How fun!
I chose both the Heart Wreath cut file, as well as the ‘Beautiful Life’ phrase from the Beautiful Hustle cut files which were designed by Kim Watson.I don’t normally work with coloured cardstock for a background, however I fell in love with the Bazzill Lemonade sheet from the cardstock kit.
To soften the background a little I dry brushed some white Gesso in a heart shape roughly where my heart cut file would sit. I was careful to keep my edges soft and blended.Next, I added some of the ‘Cocklebells Coral’ Magical Pigment Dust from the colour kit, as well as a soft pink mist spray from my stash over the top of the Gesso until blended. I was really happy with the soft effect this gave my background.
I backed both my cut files with papers from the main kit and loved how colourful they were. I adhered my wreath flat to my background page, whilst my photo and phrase cut file were added with some foam tape. This was so they had some dimension and height.
Several cards from the pocket life kit, were used to back my photo. I distressed all of the edges a little so that it had some nice texture. My photo was printed in black and white as I knew my layout would have loads of colour.
I fussy cut some extra blooms from the ‘Sparkle’ paper of the She’s Magic collection by Dear Lizzy. These were tucked in neatly around my wreath where I felt I needed balance or a little extra colour. Some of the Dear Lizzy buttons were used to centre my flowers and using a punch from my stash I added some extra green leaves also.
To complete my layout I added some extra sub phrase embellishments as well as a 1 inch strip of the ‘Dreaming’ paper, again from the ‘She’s Magic’ collection by Dear Lizzy.
I also filmed a sort process video so you can see exactly how my layout came together. You can see it- HERE.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my latest layout today and it has given you some inspiration for your own scrapbooking. Don’t forget to check out all these gorgeous supplies, (and more!), via the Hip Kit Club website.
Until next time,
Kylie. xx
