MIXED MEDIA ON A CUT FILE|Sophie Delorme

Hello sweet Hip Kit friends !

How are you in those difficult times ? It’s Sophie here and I hope to inspire you with a very simple and soft layout created with the March 2020 Hip Kits.

Here is a little step-by-step process. I started with the beautiful March 2020 subscriber cut file named “Our Family” and designed by Kim Watson. I turned it 90 degrees and erased the title, as I wanted to use photos of my little Sabrina and our dog..

I cut it on white Cardstock and applied the Nuvo Embellishment Mousses (Custard Cream and Peony Pink) from the March 2020 Color kit on the cut file. I mixed the mousses with water and painted the three frames just like if I was applying watercolor in yellow, pink, and a mix of both mousses for an orange look on the upper middle frame.

I decided to cut the cut file on velum as well for a subtle ombre look, and chose the beautiful Jen Hadfield “Hey Hello” patterned paper called Birdies (March 2020 paper kit) for my background. The vertical lines reminded me of wallpaper and I thought it was a good idea to “hang” my frames on the “wall”..!

Then, I embellished my page with plenty of little clusters of Ephemeras and stickers, most of which come from the Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters Ephemera (March 2020 Embellishment kit) and Planner Mini Stocker Book (March 2020 Pocket Life kit). I also used the beautiful golden leaves from the Jen Hadfiel Hey Hello Ephemera (March 2020 Main kit).

I decided to “hang” the frames by adding a ribbon and bow on top of each of them, “attached” with a Jen Hadfield golden Puffy Dot Sticker (Embellishment kit).

I finally wrote down my journaling and added a few gold splatters from my stash.
