Hello everyone! Welcome back to the Hip Kit Club blog. Today I have been challenged to create a layout using cut files. So instead of using the new ones I thought it would be fun to dig back into the archives and use an older cut file. When I saw this perfect hot air balloon I knew it was the one.
Choosing a cut file can be tricky at times. When your working with larger cut files that are detailed and are a ‘something’ eg like this hot air balloon you don’t want to hide it as you want the viewer to know it is a hot air balloon, so the trick is to to pick the right sized photo and pick a photo with a lot of pop.
In my layout I have use a black and white 4×6 inch photo where the beautiful subjects are full face looking at the camera and fill the majority of the photo. By doing this I made sure that I have not taken away from the stunning cut file and the focus as remained on the photo.
‘Be a seeker of everyday magic’ … I love that saying. It is always a win when you find that little piece of ephemera that is perfect. I have created this layout using the February 2019 kits and although we are all starting to work with out beautiful March kits I couldn’t help but celebrate with one last layout.
If you are new to to the Hip Kit Club blog I suggest that you pop by the website and check out all the stunning kits available to purchase. To become a subscriber click HERE . If you become a subscriber you are entitled to FREE monthly cut files just like this beautiful hot air balloon which was FREE in May 2017. Check out the cut files HERE
If you would like to see how this layout came together check out my YouTube process video.
I hope this layout has inspired you to check out some of the older cut files and give them a go.
Happy Scrapping
