Happy New Year everyone! Now that December has come and gone I hope everyone has made some progress on their December Documented projects. I certainly start off strong and then slow way down once the festivities start snowballing and that’s okay. Now that the crazy has died down I have more time and energy to get back to work!
The pages I am sharing today are a little bit out of order. I am at the point where I have a few days that still need subjects, am waiting for a photo order to be ready, and I am still deciding how I want to tackle the 25th or the “Grand Finale” as I like to call it!
Up first is Day 15. On this day we went to a birthday party out of town and the photos I settled on were my girls and their best friend playing mini golf. For this page I used the four 3×4 pockets and filled two with photos and two with journaling cards:
I used two journaling cards here both in the color pink. I chose to go mostly monochromatic because I thought it let the photos stand out. I dressed up the card on the top left by adhering a chipboard tab to the outside of the journaling card with a staple and then adding a piece of the gold twine. This brought a little bit of texture to the page as well as kept that pocket more flat.
Next up is Day 20. Again, I went with my preferred pocket configuration and split it evenly between photos and cards.
For the top right card, I layered some stickers and chipboard on top of a tree that I cut using my Silhouette. The cut file that I used was part of last month’s “Twelve Days of Giving” and is available for you under the “Cut File” tab on the Hip Kit Website.
Finally, I have Day 23. This day is made up of two photos and one 4×6 journaling card and tells the story of our last trip to the market before Christmas.
To make the journaling card, I cut out a 4×6 rectangle out of some thin, white cardstock. I chose the thinner cardstock because it is easier to run through my older typewriter. I layered some patterned paper from the kit diagonally and anchored them down with staples. I added a few drops of gold mist to muck up the paper a bit and layered some embellishments. The number stickers that I used are from the November Kits.
Thanks for stopping by today! This will be my last Documented December post on the blog, but I plan on sharing the rest of my project on Instagram, so keep a look out!
