Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful time!
I’d like to show you another little process in my December Documented Album. I still can’t believe that it’s actually Christmas and I can say I’m -thanks to the stunning HKC December Documented Kit – totally up to date.
Thanks to the December Color Kit i got some Shimmerz to create a little extra for my December Documented Kit. I started by cutting the snowflakes that came with the 12 Days of Giving Day 8 cutfile on white cardstock. I have put my snowflakes on the glass mat I’m usually working on when I’m starting to play with colour. Because I was aiming for a more translucent colour, I have watered down some of the Inklingz just by adding clear water with my brush. Then I started to get some colour on the snowflakes with the packaging technique. I added more color just until there was no more white space on the snowflake.
I repeated this with some more snowflakes and also with the reddish Shimmerz that is in the HKC December Color Kit, too. After everything was completely dry I started to assemble my page. I already knew that i’ll be sewing the paper on top of my pocket page. I had the idea to add the “add more sparkle” Pinkfresh Studio Chipboard to the page since there are sparkly colours in the mailing envelope on the picture. But in the end I went with one of the Pebbles Woodgrain Phrase Thickers.
Because I really love all these “off the pocket” pages and the extra dimension I can create there, I glued the little stars down with some extra thick foam pieces.
Isn’t this dimension and movement just wonderful?
As you can see I included the Pebbles Woodgrain Phrase Thicker “joy” and some more of the snowflakes. I really love to use the same embellishments as a recurring theme in bigger project like this. To me this is creating something like a common thread which is keeping the whole album together.
I’m really happy with day 21 in my December Documented Album – let’s quickly have a look at the other side of the page!
Because I have coloured the white snowflakes with the packaging technique, they are quite messy overleaf. That’s why I glued matching white snowflakes on the back. I think they work pretty well as a part of the cluster I created for my Day 22 picture.
Here’s a close up of the doubled snowflakes:
And this is how I ended up with Day 22:
I hope your December Documented Albums are filling up well!
Have a wonderful day!
