Hey there Hip Kit Club Fans! Niki here again today and I have this layout to share using the December 2018 kit and my assignment was to use the Main Kit only. I usually get all the kits and totally mix them up when I first get them so this was a bit of a challenge for me. I decided to make things harder on myself and stick to the Main Kit Only rule very strictly and not add a single thing – so that meant no white card, no thread and no paint splatters!

I started off by choosing a background. As I wasn’t allowing myself to add any white card I had to choose a patterned paper background which is a bit out of my comfort zone. I went for the lightest paper in the kit. I added a red border. I decided on a red and navy colour scheme so went through the main kit and pulled out all the bits in those colours. The beautiful exclusives this month were packed with those colours so it wasn’t too hard.

I made my title out of a word from the exclusive stickers, and another word made up of the navy alphabet stickers by Pinkfresh.

I added a border to my page with a pen and also picked out some of the details in the background paper by outlining them with a pen too.

After a couple of false starts I am happy with how my layout turned out in the end! The beautiful Hip Kits make it easy to create and this has made me realise how much stuff is in the main kit only and that I really don’t need to add very much to it (other than white card!!!).
