Hi Hip Kit fans! It’s Natsuko Suzuki here sharing a mixed media layout using the 2023 July Hip Kits and the Summer Cut File. Here is my layout.

I focused on the stencils for this layout. First, I primed the Cloud White Cardstock with clear gesso. Then I chose the Waves Stencil from the July Color Kit and inked it on the cardstock with the Catherine Pooler OH BOY ink pad. I covered the edges of the stencil before inking so the edges won’t be too harsh. I also blurred the edges by spraying a little bit of water and a brush.
I cut an Exclusive Summer Cut File with the Inca Gold Cardstock and added shell shapes to the alphabets with the Shell Stencil and Nuvo Glacier Paste. I love the shimmery texture and how it shines when you tilt the layout. I popped the words up with tiny foam adhesives and adhered them to the background. For embellishments, I used the Cardstock Die Cuts. There are so many fun Summer die cut pieces in this pack! I used foam adhesives for most of them to add dimension. Here are some Close-ups.
Adding texture with a stencil and paste is a fun way to add interest to cut-out shapes and alphas. I love how this turned out and I hope this inspired you in some way.
