Hi Friends!

So good to see you again! Today I’m getting messy with mixed media. I have to be honest with you all… I’m packing up for a move and I have packed way too much stuff already! So… mixed media was a bit of a challenge with nothing more than the gorgeous July color kit. But… I bought acrylic paint thickener, never used that stuff and I was wondering what the effect would be if I mixed it with the magicals from the color kit.

The magicals in the color kit have such a vibrant pigment! I love it, with a bit of sparkle in it! I picked the Teenie Weenie Bikini for the circle. I’ve drawn a circle (you can still see a hint of the circle in the photo) and with a palet knife I started to “paint” with the acrylic thickener.

I must say, I love the effect of that thickener, you can create true dimension but it stays a bit translucent, so it’s totally different than structure paste.

Then I created an home made design paper, using the stunning waves-stencil from the color kit. I diluted the Dip a Toe Teal magical with some water and simply used a kitchen sponge to dab it into the stencil.

Then I added some layers behind my photo from the beautiful July main kit. I created some embellishment clusters using the vellum die cuts from the July embellishment kit. Finished everything off with that cool title and the puffy alphas from the kit.

I really like how it turned out and sure will be using that thickener again!
