LET’S USE DIES WITH MIXED MEDIA | NATSUKO SUZUKI | 2023 JULY HIP KITS

Hi Hip Kit fans! It’s Natsuko Suzuki here sharing a mixed media layout using the 2023 July Hip Kits and the Stripe Circle Background Cut File.  Here is my layout.

I used all three colors (magical powders) from the July Color Kit and painted them individually on white cardstock. It’s pretty easy, just scoop a little bit of powder and add water. Don’t forget to prime the cardstock with clear gesso before adding anything if you’re using ordinary cardstock. By doing this, the paint will be able to move around the paper without sinking in. I pulled out another cardstock to make three more colors by mixing the powders. I made a total of six strips, all different colors and cut them with the July Tropical Layered Flower Die Set and the July Tropical Leaves Metal Die Set.

I crumpled the edges of the petals and leaves before adhering them together, so they won’t be flat. For the background, I chose the Escape paper from the July Paper Kit. I love the beautiful gradation of this paper. I added an exclusive Cut File for subscribers, the Stripe Circle Background Cut File.

For the title and embellishments, I used several pieces of the Chipboard Die Cuts from the July Embellishment Kit.

I also added a little stitching on some of the edges of the Cut File.

This is a fun way to make embellishments and you can create the exact color you want by mixing powders and water. It’s okay even if it gets a bit messy because you will die cut them.

I will also post a reel in my Instagram so you can see the process. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a great week! Natsuko Suzuki xxx
