LET’S TRY SOMETHING NEW – STITCHED HEART BACKGROUND – ANKE KRAMER – MAY 2023 HIP KITS

Hi everyone, Anke here with a new layout inspiration for Hip Kit Club. On Sundays we focus on techniques and I created a layout with a stitched heart background. I used the gorgeous May 2023 Hip Kits and some of our exclusive metal dies.

First of all I made a paper template which I placed on my page and then I pierced holes for the stitching. Then I stitched the heart using green twine.

The stitching takes time , but I think the result is worth it.

I layered my photo with a tag die cut from the”Wild Flowers – Cardstock Ephemera” pack, which is included in the May Main Kit. Then I placed the tag and the photo on the stitched heart and added some flowers, which I fussy cut from the “Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Wild Flowers – Stroll in the Meadow” paper, and two cloud die cuts, which are also from the “Cardstock Ephemera” pack.

The title is a word die cut from the “Wild Flowers – Cardstock Phrase & Floral Die Cuts” pack, which you can find in the May Embellishment Kit. I arranged some fussy cut flowers at the bottom of my layout and added a tab die cut.

I also added some puffy stickers from the “Wild Flowers – Puffy Accents Stickers” pack, which is included in the May Main Kit

Then I cut three butterflies from white cardstock using the “May 2023 Butterfly Metal Die Set”, and backed them with the “Wild Flowers – Love Grows Here” paper. I also cut a sun from the “Wild Flowers -Daisy Chain” paper using the “May 2023 Cloud Metal Die Set”. I pierced holes and stitched the butterfly trails. Then I adhered the butterflies and the sun die cut.

I added more fussy cut leaves and flowers and continued embellishing the layout with another word sticker and some chipboard hearts from the “Wild Flowers – Chipboard Stickers” pack, which is included in the May Embellishment Kit.

Finally I added some Nuvo Drops from my stash.

Here you can see my finished layout. I hope you like it and feel inspired to add some hand stitched elements to your next project.
