Hi Hip Kit fans! Natsuko Suzuki here to share a new layout using the April Hip Kit.

I used the 2022 color kit which contains a beautiful floral stamp, die and three stencils. I colored the stamped floral with the Catherine Pooler inks which came in the former color kits, using the three stencils. Also, this die matches the floral paper, so I cut it out too. I fussy cut the rest of the florals from that paper and placed them all together with the stamped flower.
Before I adhered the flowers, I did some mixed media on the background. I stamped with the newsprint texture stamp and added some blue on top. The Catherine Pooler inks are water soluble, so it’s easy to use them like watercolor paint. After it had dried, I layered the flowers. To add dimension, I put foam adhesive under some of them.
I embellished around the flowers with ephemera bits and pieces from the April Main Kit.
I thought I needed a little more, so I made a little cluster in the left bottom of the layout.
I love how the newsprint texture stamp and ink shows under the flowers. Here are some more close-ups.
