Hi Friends. Today I am using the April Main kit to create a fun layout. I love the mix of patterned papers in this kit but was really taken with the paint swatch paper – Paint Box. How could I use this more creatively?
I liked the idea of lifting the swatches slightly to add some dimension and texture to the background. To do this, I used a ruler and knife to cut the 3 edges of the swatches. I could then lightly curl the bottom of the swatch.
Next to create more interest, I added a mixed media border to the left hand side matching up the colours to the main paper.
To do this, I used the mixed media stamps from the March Color kit – my new favourite stamps! They make adding colour to your page so easy!
I stitched the two papers together and added some twine before layering die-cuts from the main kit.
I tucked in tags which were fussy cut from the patterned paper plus chipboard frame and sentiment.

Thanks so much for watching. I hope you like this technique.
I would love to see what you create. Don’t forget to share with us on our Facebook group.
See you next time!
