LET’S CREATE WITH PATTERNED PAPER | JANA EUBANK | MARCH 2023 HIP KITS

Hello, friends! Jana Eubank here. Are you addicted to patterned paper as much as I am! Today’s layout features the Harmony patterned papers from the March Kit. Check it out!

I used a single, rectangular photo on this layout, then layered square frames (March Embellishment Kit) on either side. I filled the square frames with vellum that I embossed with the February Stencil (February Color Kit) for subtle texture.

How do you emboss with a stencil? My Spellbinder’s Platinum 6 machine came with a flexible, rubber mat that made it easy to do. After stacking the appropriate plates together with the vellum and stencil, I simply ran it through my machine. The rubber mat allowed the vellum paper to ‘give’ a little bit, embossing the stencil pattern into the paper.

Watch the video above to see the embossing in action.

Here’s another look at the embossed vellum.

After grouping everything together in the center of the page, I fussy-cut several flowers from the Vintage Blooms patterned paper. I added these florals above and below my photo, along with butterflies from both the Kaleidoscope paper and the Simple Stories ‘Life in Bloom’ Sticker Book (March Embellishment Kit).

I used the ‘Today’ word from the Sticker Book (March Embellishment Kit) for the title, then added another chipboard frame to the left of the title, filled with more embossed vellum and a die-cut heart (February Nested Hearts Dies). I layered a chipboard heart from the Decorative Brads (March Main Kit) on top of the die-cut heart.

I created journaling strips on my computer, then stamped the date using the Date Stamp from the January Pocket Life Kit.

To cap the page off, I added an embellishment cluster at the top and bottom using ticket stickers (Sticker Book – March Embellishment Kit) and the Mixed Media Stamp (March Color Kit).
