Mixed Media Monday

Hello Paperlovers, Welcome to the HKC blog today! It’s Josefine here with a new mixed media scrapbook layout for Mixed Media Monday using the beautiful January 2022 Hip Kits.

 

For this scrapbook layout I used the metal dies Heart shape. I cut serval hearts from the January design papers. I backed the hearts with some  light blue Cardstock from the January 2022 cardstock kit and stitch these hearts through the middle with blue sewing thread.

 

For the mixed media part I used the Shimmerz paints form the January 2022 color kit. ( winter mist and Plum crazy) The yellow shimmerz paints I used is called ” Dandy Lion” and is from the February 2021 color kit. I mix the colors and apply the inks with a moist kitchen sponge. I made a YT video on my Youtube channel. where I explain the technique. I make serval splatters on my background with the shimmerz paints. Big fan of the splatter effect!

I draw a square in the center of my layout and stitch it with blue sewing thread and used my sewing machine. I put the heart shapes in a flower design on my mixed media background and put the photo from my hubby  on top. I make a cluster on both sides of the photo with the beautiful die-cuts from this fabulous January kit. I also stitch the cutfile “Amazing” with blue sewing thread. I placed the cutfile partially on my photo. I love how that look.

The title for this layout called ” You are my amazing person” I love the beautiful font of this alpha set. I place some wood veneer hearts between the flower clusters and splash some more with white gesso on my layout.
