Hi friends. I have a fun layout to share with you today about my love of live theatre – there is nothing like a musical show to make your day!
After two years of shows being cancelled and postponed, we are doing our bit to support actors and artists by booking up some great theatre shows. I thought it would be fun to make a layout to document what we have booked for this spring.
I downloaded and printed the show posters which are bright and eye-catching. So I needed to mount them onto something less busy. The simple ticket cut file is available to download from January’s subscriber cut files. I coloured the white card with mixed media using the stencils from the January Color Kit.
To add more colour, I mixed Shimmerz with water and applied it with a large round paintbrush. The colours pair together so perfectly with the kit’s colours. I outlined the tickets with a black fine liner to add definition. I mounted the tickets onto the background, leaving the top of the ticket open so I could tuck in some tags for journaling. I will store the used tickets in one of the pockets after the show.
To create the dimensional stars, I cut out several stars on my silhouette. To add the dimension, I scored from the point across the star to the opposite site. This is repeated for each point. Carefully, I then pinched the stars along the score lines so they become raised.
To finish I decorated the tickets with chipboard elements and puffy stickers from the January Embellishment and Pocket Life kits. I love the font of the alphas from the main kit – they are so unique!
I love how this layout documents my love of live shows! I plan to document some previous shows in the same way. I hope I have isnpired you to document your shows too.
Thank you so much for popping in.
