Mixed Media Monday – Layered Butterflies

Hi friends, this is Daniela sharing a new page with you guys. It’s Monday again which means it’s time for another mixed media layout. I grabbed my March kits and created a layout with layered butterflies to document our last day of kindergarten, a pretty emotional event. I wanted to create a bright and cheerful page to document this happy and proud moment.

I worked with four different patterned papers and punched out big butterflies. The butterflies are layered in different ways and I stitched them together with white yarn.

The different layers and the lose threads create a cool 3D effect. The exclusive chipboard stickers and some shiny enamel dots create even more dimension.

I really love all the exclusives included in the March kits. The patterns are so pretty and I love the color combination and all the different types of embellishments like the cool acetates included in the Main Kit. I added pink powders to the white cardstock and placed the butterflies on top of those cotton candy pink spots. Finally, I also added some color splashes in gold and blue.

Here are some more impressions.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a great day!

XO

Daniela
