CUT FILE TUESDAY | BUILD A FLOWER | MAY 2021 KITS| KATARINA PREVENDAROVA

Hi friends,

Katarina here with you again with some May 2021 Hip Kits gorgeousness. Today is a Cut File Tuesday and I played with the Build a Flower cut file designed by Kim Watson. I wanted to document a photo of my husband and son from last week’s visit to the Botanical Garden.

I cut the cut file several times using various patterned papers from the Paige Evans Wonders collection as well as the Buenoz Dias collection. I played a lot with the cut flowers to create dimension and a more realistic look. There are multiple ways to curve the petals to achieve that, as you can see from the close-ups. I then layered the parts of my flowers and adhered them together, adding 3D foam squares at some places. I added the Paige Evans Mini Puffy Stickers and some of the cute little stars from the Obed Marshall alphabet stickers to the centers of the flowers to add more fun details.

I wanted to place my flowers and my title in two corners of my layout and my photo in the middle. I created two spots with a watercolor background where my flowers were supposed to go using dark blue and turquoise inks from my stash.

I arranged the flowers over these spots combining them with the floral die cuts from the Embellishment Kit. I curled them too to add a bit of dimension. There are also leaves included in the cut file, I cut a bunch of them using the beautiful green patterned paper by Paige Evans and tucked them under my flowers here and there.

I created my title using the absolutely perfect Obed Marshall foam alphabet stickers from the Main Kit .

For finishing touches I added tiny embellishments from the Paige Evans Sticker Book (Pocket Life Kit), Jen Hadfield cardstock stickers, Pinkfresh Studio enamel dots and white acrylic paint splatters. Finally, I added a frame using the fun patterned paper from the Buenoz Dias collection.

My son is a huge fan of flowers and plants and this layout is absolutely perfect to document this precious memory. I love how it turned out!

Thank you for stopping by today. Hope you like my project too and if you feel inspired, enjoy crafting with the amazing Hip Kits!

xx Katarina
