Hi everyone, it’s Vicki here today sharing my mixed media Monday layout using the fabulous February 2021 kits and a cut file as a stencil.
I used the Heart Rainbow cut file and repeated and flipped it to create a full circle. I then taped the ‘stencil’ to a piece of smooth white cardstock and roughly marked out six sections for my six colours of texture paste.

I used white texture paste, but added colour using various Shimmerz products from the February colour kit and some older colour kits too. The colours were as follows: Razzledazzle Berry Vibez, Dandy-Lion Creameez, Meet me at Sunset – Inklingz, Well Blue Me Down – Coloringz, Deep Blue Sea Vibes, Precious Posey Inklingz. With the solid colours (Creameez and Inklingz), I watered them down to watercolour paint first and then mixed them in. For each section, I overlapped slightly so that I had a blended look.
I loved the rainbow effect I got from this, so I also used the packaging technique to add some colour to the inner parts of the rainbow and a few splatters for each section.
I then used lots of die cuts, chipboard and stickers from the February 2021 kits – losts of exclusives and also some Simple Stories and Pinkfresh Studio pieces.
I backed the photo with one of the pocket life cards to add an extra pop of colour beneath it and slightly distressed the edges.
I was so, so happy with the final layout – the colours are so vibrant and the circle design goes so well with the photo of my niece showing me how big her mouth can be (she’s such fun).
