Main Kit Only Thursday – Becki Adams

Hello Hip Kit Club friends and fans, Becki Adams here, to share a layout with you that I created with the February 2021 main kit only. We were challenged to include a sunburst design and include stitching on the layout as well.

The background of this layout is created on white cardstock. I chose white cardstock so that I could stitch with colored thread. I wanted the stitching to stand out. I knew the approximate location for my photos so I knew where to start my stitching. I used a ruler and a pencil to sketch the lines, then I poked the holes for the stitching with a paper piercer.

Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.

I started stitching in the center with green embroidery thread. As I moved out on either side I changed thread colors to coordinate with the kit. I LOVE the result! Hand stitching is one of my very favorite techniques. It adds so much texture and interest to any project.

Each of the “rays” are embellished with hearts and flowers. I used dimensional adhesive to adhere the die cuts so they popped up above the stitching.

After I  finished the stitching and embellishing. I added the photos with a patterned paper mat under each photo. I used the die cut “Friend you make life fun” die cut below the photo as a title. Last but certainly not least, I printed my journaling and adhered them in strips above the photos next to the stitched rays.

I love how this project turned out. I cannot wait to see what YOU create with the February 2021 main kit. Happy crafting, friends!!
