Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today sharing three Valentine’s Day cards that I created using the beautiful January 2021 Main Kit and Cardstock Kit.  We were prompted to create clever cards and I love how mine turned out!  The exclusives in these kits are amazing and so fun!  Here are my cards:

On top of creating clever cards, we were also prompted to use a cut file, a chipboard frame and fringed borders.  Let’s get to the first card where I used one of the new exclusive February cut files that will be available in the shop soon!  You can find the subscriber exclusive cut files here.  But don’t worry, if you’re not a subscriber there are free cut files available to you.  Simply log in to your account and you’ll be able to access them.

Here’s the first card!  I chose the February String Heart cut file and cut it on the exclusive It’s Time To Shine patterned paper.  Then, I cut down the Fresh Start patterned paper to a standard A2 size for my base and layered up a piece of the Bazzill white cardstock from the cardstock kit right on top.  I also ran it through my sewing machine to give it a bit of texture.  The theme of this card was music, so I added the chipboard musical note bar lines sticker and layered the cute bird ephemera right on top.  My sentiment was created using the puffy alphas from the Main Kit.  I also added in the white puffy alphas from the Embellishment Kit.

To finish off the card, I adhered a few of the wood veneer stars and tucked in another chipboard sticker right underneath that adorable bird.  This card was super simple to create, so if you’re in a time crunch or if you’re stuck. on what to put on a card, try adding a cut file!  It really takes a lot of the work out and you can use the cut file as a layer or back it and embellish right on top.  So many possibilities!

For my second card, I created a shaker card!  The prompt for this one was to include a chipboard frame so I pulled one of the embroidery hoop stickers from the Embellishment Kit and used that to create my shaker along with some sequins from my stash.  For the base of my card, I used the Dare To Dream exclusive patterned paper and ran it through my sewing machine.  The theme for this card was “Pets”, so I added in the cute dog and cat chipboard sticker as well as a floral sticker.  So fun and colorful!

This card was so fun to create and who doesn’t love a card that shakes!!  The embroidery hoop made the cutest shaker!  Do you have a hard time incorporating chipboard frames onto your projects?  They make the best shakers!  I hope you’ll give it a try!

For my last card, the prompt was to add a fringed border.  Since the Embellishment Kit has the most beautiful fringed borders in it, I pulled those and added a few to my card!  I just had to use them.  They have a beautiful watercolor look to them and wow are they pretty!!!  There are a lot of adorable sewing elements in the kits this month, so I decided to have a sewing machine as the main focus on this card.

For the base of my card, I trimmed down the Floral Fantasy patterned paper to an A2 size and layered the Bazzill Tutu Pink cardstock right on top.  Then I added the B side from the It’s Time To Shine patterned paper as the last layer.  I made sure to run each layer through my sewing machine, adding another textural element to this card.  Next, I adhered the fringed borders and added my sewing machine right on top.

I created the cute sentiment using the purple puffy alphas again and added in two more chipboard stickers.  I love all of the layers and dimension on this card!  Check out the fringed borders, so cute right?

I had so much fun creating these cards and I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way today!  If you haven’t had a chance to pick up these kits, there are still some available in the shop so don’t miss out!  The exclusives this month are so beautiful and they’re so versatile.  I want to make 10 more cute and clever cards!  Thank you again for being here and I’ll see you in my next post!  Cheers friends!
