Hello Summer | Erica Thompson

Hey friends! Erica here with you today to share my first layout using the beautiful July 2020 kits and a new cut file! If they are not yet loaded on the website they will be very soon so keep an eye out! Also if you have not created a free account on the Hip Kit Club website then now is the time! You do not want to miss out on any of the awesome free cut files!

For my layout today I am using the Hello Summer cut file designed by the super talented Kim Watson! As soon as I saw this cut file I knew I had to use it! I cut it out on some white textured cardstock and then again with one of the pattern papers from the kit! While the file was up in my Silhouette studio I selected the file and did a right click and then released compound path. I then went in and deleted all the shapes inside the cutfile that I did not want cut so that I was just left with a whole piece that I could inlay the colored pieces of pattern paper I had cut! This was very easy to do and if you would like a video on how to do this please let us know in the comments down below!

For my background I wanted to create some splatter that looked like water so I used some of the Sky Blue Pinkfresh Studio watercolor. It is the perfect shade of blue for pool water! I added the cut file down with some foam adhesive and two photos of my daughter in the pool! We have enjoyed having the pool this year more than ever! For the sun in the cut file I used some Catherine Pooler inks to blend in some color and love how it came out!

I finished my layout off with some exclusive HIp Kit Club die cuts and enamel dots included in the July 2020 kit! Here is a look at my completed layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! Make sure to head on over to the HKC website and check out all the gorgeous kits!
