Hi everyone, it’s Vicki again today and it’s mixed media Monday! I love a bit of mixed media on my layouts, so I pulled out the May colour kit and got to work to scrap a cute photo of myself and my dog, Buster.

I started by using one of the Vicki Boutin stencils from the kit with the Stamp Market Inks. The page was first coated in gesso for what I had planned. I used a foam wedge to create a set of circles through the stencil down the entire page, starting with Citrine, then Melon Orange and finishing with Cherry Kisses. Then I splattered some water over it and used my paintbrush to smudge some of the ink with the water. Here’s an in progress shot…

I liked the effect that the smudging gave – it gives a great background base. I also added splatters to add some extra interest.

I then layered up my photo using some tags from Stamp Market and some exclusive cards from the Pocket Life kit. I also fussy cut several flowers from the 5th and Monaco collection.

I finished up with a die cut from Happy Hooray by Amy Tangerine as the title along with some of the gorgeous shiny Thickers from Pink Paislee.

I hope it gives you inspiration for trying some mixed media. Thank you for looking and I’ll be back soon.
