Hi friends, it’s Vicki here today to share a layout I made using just the May main kit and a piece of white cardstock from my stash.

 

 

I adore the colours in the Vicki Boutin Let’s Wander collection and the colourful starburst paper is just fabulous. I started by cutting the individual strips almost to the point, but not quite so that it stayed together (I learned that trick from the fabulous Missy Whidden) and then stuck them down and sewed with black thread along both sides of each strip.

 

 

I distressed the edges to add some text and left the threads at the bottom loose so that they would show from beneath my photo and embellishments. I also added some blue watercolour to add a bit of depth.

 

 

I then layered my photo and some Vicki Boutin embellishments over the blue area in a cluster and finished by adding several of the Pink Paislee 5th and Monaco word stickers at the base of each of the bursts in coordinating colours. I also fussy cut three butterflies from paper 4 of the same collection.

And that’s the final layout which I hope will give you some inspiration for using your May main kit – it truly is a gorgeous kit this month.
