Hey everyone, this is Niki (@nikiclairecreates) with you today sharing a layout that has been inspired by the April Moodboard which was created by Amanda Jayne Baldwin. I instantly fell in love with the cool spring colours of this moodboard. There is also a process video for this layout which you can find at the end of this blog post. I have used the beautiful March Hip Kits.
I started with that beautiful blue Heidi Swapp Artwalk paper for my background. I wanted to use this as it was the colour that inspired me the most from the moodboard. It was however a little busy and I felt it needed some white space to tone it down a little! I started by cutting a large piece of white card but then I realised there were triangles on the moodboard so I totally went with that!
I cut my piece of white into multiple triangles. I mounted each one on blue cardstock that was in the March Cardstock Kit. I distressed the edges of each and stitched around each one on my sewing machine with white thread.
When I was happy with the triangle arrangement, I began adding my photos and building up the layers of embellishment around those. I have used bits and pieces from the Pebbles Ephemera which was in the March Main kit and I used several journaling cards from the March Pocket Life kit.
I added tumbling alphabet stickers, the blue ones, by Amy Tangerine, from the March Pocket Life Kit to the outside edges of both my photos – these were inspired by the alphabets on the Moodboard. I also used the Paige Evans Bloom Street Phrase Thickers, from the Main kit for my title and several of the hearts too.
I’m in love with those Crate Paper Magical Forest bows from the March Embellishment kit, they are so pretty. I used one on this layout in the cool lilac colour which went great with my colour scheme. I added fussy cut phrases from one of the Paige Evans Bloom Street papers too, choosing phrases that went well with my layout. Here’s another look at the finished layout:
