Hi everyone, it’s Elsie here with a Mixed Media post using the January 2020 kits. For today’s layout I was inspired by one of the gorgeous February HKC exclusive cut files to create a monochromatic page in my favourite colour: pink!
In my Silhouette Studio software I copied five of the butterflies, making sure they were all different sizes. I also offset each butterfly, so my machine could cut around each one. Instead of having the machine cut all of the detail out, I instead replaced the blade with a waterproof black pen, so I could create some really bold butterflies.

I then used the ‘Plumeria Pink’ colour from the Colour Kit, to paint in each butterfly. I left the details on the wings white, for some contrast and to create that bold look. I also used that same paint to colour the background a little and add some splatters.
I obviously embellished with some of my favourite pink embellishments, and I especially love the way the pink fabric bow from the Main Kit looks next to my photo.
And for the final finishing touch I painted a scrap piece of paper pink, so I could punch some butterflies out from that and add them to the layout.
