Hey there, Hip Kit friends! Missy here. I’m so excited to bring you my first layout using the 2015 May Hip Kits! Man, are they gorgeous! The colors are to die for…the papers and patterns are amazing…the embellishments match so perfectly…everything ROCKS!! I immediately jumped into the Color Kit and used the American Crafts stencils, the Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink and the Ranger Paint Dabbers. The blue, green and yellow mixed together is so pretty! I started with white gesso first and then came in with the ink and paint. A lot of my embellishments are actually fussy cut from patterned papers.
Delicious colors! I added in a pop of darker blue with some stitching. I love layering papers behind my photo, and these are a mix of Chickaniddy and Pink Paislee. I really love the stencils in the Color Kit…especially this lined one!
These bits and pieces are a mix of Chickaniddy, Pink Paislee and Pebbles. I love the pop of the darker blue from those alpha stickers. I cut the word “Friday” on my Cameo and lightly traced around parts of it with a silver pen to make it stand out a bit more.
Here’s another look at the ink and paint. I used the plastic packaging for the blue…I just pressed the ink pad itself onto the packaging, added a few squirts of water and pressed it down.
One last close up of the bottom cluster. I made sure each color was represented. One of the Citrus Bliss papers has some amazing circles on it, and I punched a few of them out. I did add a bit of the ink and paint to carry over the “messy factor.”
I did create a process video so you can see exactly how I made this from start to finish. Enjoy!
