Happy Halloween HKC friends! It’s Elsie here and today I’m sharing this spooky page made with the boo-tiful October 2019 kits!
I firstly started with my photo, and built my layout around that. I had this snapchat picture of myself with one of their Halloween filters, and I thought it would be fun to use the papers and embellishments from the kits to transform myself into a witch!
To create my witches hat I used the Amy Tan ‘The Universe’ patterned paper (from the Main Kit). To embellish it, I added a red chipboard bow (from the HKC exclusive Cozy Up chipboard stickers) and stitched around the hat in matching thread. I then placed that on top of my head; I love this whimsical look!
My original title for this page was going to be ‘witch better have my coffee!’, since I’m holding a coffee cup in my photo! So I decided to paper-piece a little cauldron coffee cup with green liquid bubbling out of it. I used a couple of the Paige Evans Truly Grateful papers to create this.
To embellish, I used the HKC exclusive chipboard, puffy and cardstock stickers, and clustered them around the the photo and cauldron. I love how images like the cat and candles and pumpkins are versatile enough to be used for Autumnal layouts, but also Halloween-themed ones too!
I used the gold cursive alphas (from the Embellishment Kit) for my title, except I shortened the ‘witch better have my coffee!’ phrase to ‘witch, please!’ which slotted into the design better.
And as a final finishing touch I die-cut the spiderweb (from the October 2019 freebie cut file) from the Pinkfresh Studio Chit Chat paper for an extra spooky detail!
