Sketch inspired cards | Vicki Parker

Hi everyone, it’s Vicki here today with my very first cards assignment. I used to make cards many, many years ago, but I haven’t for a long time and I was a bit nervous. However, the September 2019 kits are so delicious, that I shouldn’t have worried. It’s also sketch Friday, so I was keeping that in mind when making the cards which look like this.

And this is the gorgeous sketch by Sophie for this week:

So, I started with my first card using the text paper from Jen Hadfield, This is Family collection and I also tore a piece of vellum from the cardstock kit to go over the paper. I like how it softens the words for the embellishments on top. I stamped directly onto the vellum with the Hip Kit exclusive stamps from the pocket life kit for the sentiment and used the Dear Lizzy frame and some exclusive flowers to embellish. Finally, I used the Lindy’s Magicals from the color kit in glittering gold for some splatters.

For the second card, I used the Dear Lizzy rainbow striped paper as the base and another frame with some fussy cut flowers. Again I used some vellum under the frame and used the Hip Kit exclusive stamps to add the sentiment. I finished with some glittering gold Lindy’s to add a bit of sparkle.

Finally, the third card used the text paper from Jen Hadfield as a base again with some vellum on top. But this time, I used a bunch of exclusive die cuts (from which I cut off the white border) to layer a cute fall theme. I think it turned out super cute and I am so happy that I made three cards that I actually love and would use!

Thank you so much for looking – I hope it gives you some inspiration to make cards with your kits. Until next time….
