Hey friends, it’s Elsie here again with some inspiration on how to use your August 2019 Hip Kits! Today I was challenged to use a cut file and incorporate some stitching onto my project, which really wasn’t a challenge at all since this is one of my favourite go-to techniques! Here is the layout I created:
I firstly started by cutting one of the August 2019 HKC exclusive cut files from white cardstock. This globe is so cool, I love the geometric pattern in it because I could back each triangle with different pieces of patterned paper and create a really colourful design.
I arranged the patterned papers in to an ombre order, going from yellow to pink to purple and then to blue.
Once the cut file was backed, I did some hand-stitching with white thread over the white cardstock outlines. This not only adds texture, but it adds some more dimension to the design.
Since the design was so colourful, I printed my photo in black and white and framed it with one of the black Pretty Little Studio die-cuts (from the Pocket Life kit), to add some contrast.
For my title/journalling I used a combination of alpha stickers. For the main title I used the Pink Paislee Truly Grateful thickers (from the Embellishment kit), and aligned them against the curve of the globe. I used the Pinkfresh Studio Just A Little Lovely alphas (from the Pocket Life kit) to spell out my sub-title and, again, I placed them against the globe.
And finally to embellish I used a combination of stickers and die-cuts from Truly Grateful as well as some of the Pinkfresh puffy stickers and the layered Vicki Boutin layered butterfly embellishments.
Thanks for stopping by!
