Happy Friday Everyone! Martina here with a sketch friday layout using the July 2019 Hip Kits.
This weeks sketch has been created by Niki Rowland and I totally love it!
Today, we are challenged to use punches or dies. I am a big fan of incooperating lots of die cuts to my projects! But for this layout, I have decided to reduce my additional items to some hand punched sea water cardstock butterflies. I think there is enough going on with the Mixed Media Background and the colorful globe which ist an HKC August Cutfile.
I have cut the globe from a sheet of Pinkfresh Studio – Just a little lovely – New thoughts paper and primed a piece of white cardstock with white gesso. After that hast been dried, I added some texture paste through a stencil with stripes to pick up the stripey theme from the sketch.
Then I started to play around with some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Colors which we got in this months (Yellow Rose of Texas) and some past (Golden Sleigh Bells, Fuzzy Navel Peach, Pink Ladies Pink) Color Kits. It was so fun and easy to pick up the colors of the paper I used for the globe and get them onto the background paper.
To add some more dimension, I have been using foam pads to glue the globe onto the background. After the globe has been glued down, I have arranged some of the 1 Canoe 2 – Saturday Afternoon – Rub-Ons (which are part the July2019 Pocket Life Kit) around it to add some extras onto the background. To incooperate some more of the blue I planned to add to the layout, I have matted my photo with a dark blue HKC Ecxlusive Pocket Life Card.
Combining all these different embellishments to the globe was so much fun! There is a HKC Exclusive – Hello Summer – Decorative Banner, lots of Pinkfresh Studio – Just a little lovely stickers in all varieties, some extra dimension and ruffle from 1 Canoe 2 – Saturday Afternoon – Layered Stickers and – last but not least – a cute pink Carta Bella – Lets Travel – Chipboard arrow.
