Combining a Cutfile & mixed media | Christina Buresch-Leyrer

Hello everyone! It’s Christina here with a new layout inspiration. A couple of weeks ago, a dear friend sent me some photos of her son and his best friend that I could incorporate in a scrapbooking layout, and those were the coolest photos ever! The kids were wearing sunglasses for a little photoshoot they had, and since one of the Hip Kit Club exclusive July cutfiles says “too cool for my shades”, I knew straight away that I wanted to combine it with one of the photos.

To match the black and white photo, I painted the cutfile with some black acrylic paint. I didn’t use the outline of the cutfile, just the inner parts, and once the paint was dry, I framed the photo with the letters.

I also clustered a lot of embellishments (from the July 2019 Main Kit + the Embellishment Kit) around the photo that I had backed up with some papers from the Main Kit and one of the cards from the Pocket Life Kit.

I always try to tug some embellishments behind the photo, and also put some on top to create more dimension and to make it look more interesting.

I also used some Pinkfresh Studio Enamel Dots from the Pocket Life Kit and some Carta Bella Decorative Brads from the Embellishment Kit to embellish some of the flowers.

I finished off the layout with some black and pink shimmer spray splatters around the embellishment clusters.

I really love how the layout turned out, especially the contrast between the bold, black letters and the soft, warm colours from the Pinkfresh Studio patterned paper!

That’s it for today, my crafty friends. I really hope you like my layout and that I could inspire you to use some colour on your cutfiles to make them match the way you want to. Just use some acrylic paint, or some sprays, or even a stamp pad. Whatever you have on hand – it’s really easy!

XOXO

Christina
