Warm colors, vacation – Lisa Fonseca

Hi friends,

it’s Lisa back on the blog today 🙂

My assignment for this week was using warm colors, like pink, yellow and orange and to make it vacation themed! 🙂 When I was scrolling through Pinterest, I saw those super cute fruit slices and I thought it would be a great idea to use those…

To start I chose all the papers, cardstock and patterned (Cardstock Kit, Paper Kit, Main Kit), that I would need to create the fruit slices. When I had an exact idea how to make them, I cut out the different parts and put them together. Then I used matching thread to stitch around some parts, to create some texture.

As my background, I used a white sheet of cardstock, (Cardstock Kit)  cut off the edges and adhered it to one of the patterned papers (Main Kit, Paper kit) to create a border to my page. Then I did some mixed media using the yellow and pink Magicals powders from Lindy’s stamp gang (Color Kit).

I adhered all of my slices to the page and also added my picture, that I matted on three scraps of paper. To add even more interest and color to the page, I cut out some hibiscus flowers and some color matching hearts from different patterned papers (Main Kit, Paper Kit). I also cut out those tiny blue flowers from an ephemera piece, included in the Vicki Boutin ephemera pack (Main Kit). I added all the elements to my page.

As a title, I used one of the Thickers words from Shimelle (Main Kit) and also some glittery foam Thickers from Amy Tangerine (Embellishment Kit).

Since I had the black seeds in the watermelon slice, I wanted to add some more black, to balance the layout. I drew some drop shapes on three little spots of the page and also added a scribbly border around it.

I hope you like how it turned out 🙂

See you soon, Lisa
