Diving into summer ! | Sophie Delorme

Hello everyone ! It’s Sophie with you today, and I am sharing a very summery layout using the June Hip Kits.

My assignment today was to use multiple cut files. We got a whole bunch of them this month so what a pleasure it was playing and mixing some of them !

I started by cutting 3 different cut files. They are all Subscriber cut files from July. I used the Circle background cut file, with only 9 circles instead of the whole file, the beautiful Summer banner cut file  and the word “Paradise” from the Palm tree cut file. I cut all of them on white Cardstock.

Then, using the stencil from the June Color kit, I applied some textured paste on white cardstock, let it dry, and colored it with some Lindy’s Stamp Gang powders and sprays. I backed a few circles of the background cut file with it. I backed the rest of the cut file with some colorful papers from the June main kit.

I added a little bit of stitching with white thread around the circles and a few splatters with a brush on my white cardstock to mimic splashing water from the pool.

I painted the Summer banner with the same Lindy’s Stamp Gang colors as my textured paste paper and backed the letters in a rainbow order to match the colors on the banner.

I also did a blue offset cut for the word “Paradise” to make it stand out a bit more.

Finally, I added layers behind my photo with some Pocket Life cards from the June kit, and a few embellishments from Vicki Boutin and Heidi Swapp, and fussy cut leaves and flowers out of the beautiful flower paper from Simple Stories.

Here are the close-ups. I really like the end result and truly hope you do too ! Go ahead and use those cut files and adapt them to fit your design !

Thank you so much for passing by and have a great day !
