Flip the Sketch | Ashley Horton

Happy Friday everyone!!  It’s Sketch Friday at Hip Kit Club, and I’m here to share my take on our sketch designed by Elsie Robinson.  Sketches can be used in so many ways, and for my layout, I flipped the sketch, by placing my photo at the bottom of the page.

My layout has some fun products from the June 2019 Kits!  I love the bright colors from the Vicki Boutin and Heidi Swapp papers and embellishments.  Other than flipping the sketch, I decided to stick with the main design.  I always like to use circle photos on my layouts and it was really fun layering all of the embellishments under the photo.

After I finished embellishing behind the photo, I worked on a fun border at the bottom of the layout.  I took some of the Vicki Boutin ephemera pieces from the June 2019 Main Kit and mixed them with puffy stickers and Chipboard stickers from the June 2019 Embellishment Kit.  I like to mix different textures and dimension onto my layouts.

I wanted to add balance to the layout, so I created another embellishment cluster at the top of the layout.  I used a few other pieces from the ephemera pack and added in some of the chipboard pieces.  For a finishing touch, I splattered some Color Shine that coordinated with the Pink color from the products in the June Kits.

I am sharing a Process Video for this layout on my YouTube Channel if you would like to stop by and check it out!
