I Love Spring – Mixing Main

Hi all! Krystal here with another 12×12 layout. Today I was challenged to mix more than one Main Kit to create my layout. Honestly, I was super excited to try this out! So many of the papers and elements in the kits work well together, I knew I would have fun creating something that spanned more than one kit.

Since I don’t have my April kit quite yet, I worked with the February and March kits and one of the new April cut files! I fell in love with this adorable wreath cut file, and even though my layout isn’t Easter themed, I knew I had to use it.

Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.

I’ve used a lot of my kits so far, so I had lots of little scraps that were perfect for backing the cut file and creating layers behind my photo. At first I thought I would fussy cut lots of the florals in the kits, but I ended up only using some of the gold foil pieces and butterflies I fussy cut from the Sunny Days papers that were in the March kit.

I normally tend to stick to a more limited color palette on my layouts, but I couldn’t help but add all the colors on this one. The tiny floral die cuts from the March exclusive ephemera pack were the perfect addition to the wreath!

To finish off the layout I added tons of the adorable epoxy hearts and some fussy cut leaves for a touch of spring. I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out, and I had lots of fun mixing and matching things from both kits.
