Hello everyone ! Sophie here with you to share my layout and some step by step photos of it at various stages. My assignment for today was to create a birthday theme layout using a cut file. That was really fun to make !

I used the February 2019 kits and mixed two of the subscriber January 2019 cut files called “Celebrate” and “Scallop background”. The stripes of the Scallop background cut file were diagonal and covered the whole 12×12 background. I erased some of the scalloped edges and made them horizontal. I then added some stitching to them with white thread to give them a more detailed look.

 

 

I backed each row of scalloped border with a different color.

 

 

The word “Celebrate” from the other cut file was my title. I backed it with some pink cardstock on which I added a little bit of a darker pink ink here and there to give it beautiful shades and  interest. I added adhesive foam to it before gluing it behind my title to add some depth.

 

 

 

Then, I jazzed up my background in a subtle way with green and pink inks and one of the Heidi Swapp  Die Cut Cardstock Stencils from the November 2018 color kit.

 

 

Finally,  I fussy cut plenty of flowers from one of the gorgeous Carta Bella Flower Market paper, arranged them around my photo and added some embellishments to finish it out.
