Hey Hip Kit Fans! Niki here and I’m sharing a layout today for Mixed Media Monday. My assignment this week was to incorporate a cut file too.

I cut the very gorgeous Floral Heart cut file with my Silhouette machine on white card. I left the whole sheet on the cutting mat. I then applied the amazing Prima Marketing Art Alchemy Opal Magic Paints from the February Color Kit using the packaging technique.

I mixed the colours with a little bit of water before adding them to the cut file. I also mixed some of the colours to make new colours. I also added splatters.

I waited for the cut file to dry and then carefully peeled it off the cutting mat. I then adhered it to a white background raised up on foam pads.

I then created the rest of the layout. The floral heart was so beautiful that I didn’t want to cover too much of it up, so I kept my photo cluster fairly small. I added lots of embellishments from the February kits and particularly added gems and pearls to the centre of some of the flowers.
