Layers and butterflies – Anke Kramer

Hello Hip Kit friends – Anke here with my first design team project  featuring the beautiful  August kits.

For my layout I used the Main Kit, the Embellishment Kit and some stickers from the Project Life Kit. I love embellishments, layers and fussy cutting and so I knew immediately what I wanted to use on my project when I unpacked the kits.

First – like many others – I fussy cut some butterflies from the Maggie Holmes Willow Lane paper. Then I took the pom pom frames to find out which one would be the best match for my photo. It’s  a cute picture of my dog Edgar when he was a chubby puppy – so I went with the pink frame.

I placed the framed photo in the center of my layout and layered it with a tag from the ephemera pack and one of the fringe pieces from the Embellishment Kit. Then I added some splashes of black watercolor and arranged and adhered the butterflies above and below my photo.

I bent the wings of the butterflies so it looks like they are just sitting on the paper, ready to fly away. For my title I grabbed a banner from the chipboard accents. Finally I added some stickers and a chipboard bow.

I really love how the layout turned out and I hope, you like it too.
