Hello, it’s Lauren here! A big welcome back to the Hip Kit club blog.
This post is so exciting for me as it is my very first post being part of the design team.
The layout I am sharing with you today was the layout I used as part of the submission to the design team and you are probably thinking what does that have to do with bravery well the answer is a lot.
I have been a fan of the Hip Kit Club and it’s design team since I found them over 12 months ago. I have been inspired by the Design Team’s layouts and projects and more recently been inspired by the whole Hip Kit Club community on facebook.
When the call came out my first thought was ‘I’m not good enough’. I hated that I thought that way. I popped the call out of my mind and then a few days before the call deadline I was in Newcastle watching my little girl race on a district level. I remember sitting there thinking how brave she was, that she was facing big races and not even looking back. It was while I was sitting there I looked at my phone and a photo of the call came up and I thought to myself ‘I’m going for it!’ .. and I am so glad I did. I was brave like my little girl, the little girl in these photos of her at her running race. If you are thinking of applying for a DT call and are worried then let your children’s bravery inspire you and if you don’t have any children let my daughters bravery inspire you also.
So let me introduce myself. First and foremost I love to scrapbooking and have been doing so for now over 20 years. I feel so blessed to have a hobby that has nourished my creative soul for so long and not fading. I am mother to two and super cool step Mum to one. Here they are …
I love to share my work for a couple of reasons. One is that I hope to inspire others and the other is that it is a way of me having a scrapbook of all my work for me to review and delight in. I am reasonable new to YouTube and I am loving it! I completed a process video of this layout to share with you all and I would love you to stop by and check it out. The final reason is that I love to touch base with you all. I have made life long friends through social media and although at times I think it is taking over my life I know the benefits are outweighing it’s challenges.
