It’s Friday and that means it’s time for a new sketch! This week’s sketch is perfectly springy and I could not wait to get out my March Kits and make a layout! Here’s the sketch:
This week at the Hip Kit Club we have been working with a butterfly and flower theme and this sketch went right along with it. For my take on the sketch I scaled down the design to fit my smaller page size and photo:

To create my wreath I used a cutfile that I found online and cut it out of the bright yellow paper. I had originally cut it out of white cardstock, but then I started thumbing through the patterned papers in the kit and came across a beautiful and bright yellow paper from Dear Lizzy’s new line that I thought would pop right off the white background.
Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.

To keep with the butterfly and flowers theme, I used a second floral paper (also from Dear Lizzy’s new line) and a few of the butterflies from the kits. To place my butterflies, I imagined a line going through the middle of my layout and placed the butterflies there. Here’s a few close ups of the layout:

Now if you are a big fan of sketches like I am, I encourage you to stop on by the Hip Kit Club Member Forum where we host a weekly challenge using our sketches. It is always so fun to see everyone’s take on the sketches and there is even a prize! Looking forward to seeing you there!
