Just in time for spring, Hip Kit Club’s March 2018 main kit is setting my scrappy heart aflutter. It’s filled with butterflies — as is my yard, so I included both on this layout:
To create the background, I painted white cardstock with watercolors in caterpillar and butterfly hues, and then layered it over a sheet of vellum as well as several springy patterns from the main kit.
I then stitched wavy “flight paths” over the page and connected each to a butterfly embellishment. Because some of them were layered with dimensional adhesive, making stitching tricky, I took those apart and used their layers separately.
The journaling focuses on the “little miracles” that have made a temporary home at our home this spring, and my admiration for them.
I printed over cardstock on which I had used the excess watercolor paint. I paint on scrap paper all the time with leftover paint instead of throwing it away — these colorful scraps come in handy sooner or later (in this case, sooner).
Thanks for stopping by today!
