Hi guys,
it’s Lisa here today. Welcome back! This week is flowers and butterflies week and I’m here to share this layout with you. I’m using the February kits.
I need to be honest with you… This is not the first project I made for this blog post… the first one I didn’t like… haha! I still wanted to use it and told myself to stop second guessing all my layouts, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that it wasn’t me… it wasn’t the style I liked… So, I started again, and I’m glad I did, because then I made this layout and I like it a lot better 🙂
So to start this, I used a patterned paper from Pinkfresh Studio that was in the Main kit (also in the Paper kit). It’s a white background with red stripes that end in an ombre effect. I liked the paper but knew that I didn’t want that red color to stand out too much. I prefer pink. So I put white gesso over the whole sheet and then used some pink Shimmerz spray over it. I also splattered gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine on top.
I dried it with my heat tool.
Then I used flower cutfiles from February and cut them out of white paper. I took another one of the patterned papers, the one with all the butterflies from Maggie Holmes’ new collection Flourish and cut out some butterflies. I also used some of Paige Evans’ rub-ons from her new collection Pick-me-up, which were included in the Embellishment kit, rubbed them on white paper and cut them out.
I arranged everything the way I liked it, creating a bit of a diagonal design.
The picture I used is from my brother, my sister and me. Our mom absolutely wanted a new picture of us three, so they came to my place one afternoon and we took some quick pics in my backyard. I matted it on some project life cards, from the Project Life kit and placed it on that diagonal line.
For my title, I used those gorgeous gold thickers from the Embellishment kit.
I finished the page by adding some chipboard flowers from the Pick-me-up collection and some black splatters. And I was done!
I hope you like the layout. If you do, check out the process video on YouTube and follow me on Instagram. See you next time
Bye
