Making Pretty Cards

Hello Hip Kit Friends! Lorilei here with you today, sharing some pretty cards made with the October 2017 Hip Kits!  Jung will also be sharing some cards on the Hip Kit Facebook Page!

I have to tell you up front that I wouldn’t put card making in my skill repertoire, but that may have changed for me after I made these 3 pretty little cards using the gorgeous October Hip Kits!  I decided to go for small and sweet and started out with card bases that measure 3×4 after they are folded.

For the first card I used the Bazzill TuTu Pink Cardstock for the base and layered a PL Card with teeny tiny dots then two tags I cut from Pinkfresh Studio papers and the cherry on top is a fussy cut rose from the Pebbles Jen Hadfield Heart of Home paper.  I tucked in a cut file leaf and a fabric embellishment from Pinkfresh Studio that say On My Heart.  I love this card!!

For the second card I paired the Bazzill Whirlpool Card Stock from the Oct. 2017 Cardstock Kit with a gorgeous golden PL card with tiny flowers.  I added a Pinkfresh Studio tag a Pursue Magic die cut and punched butterflies out of the Pinkfresh Studio papers all from the Oct. 2017 Main Kit.

For the third card I used the bold plaid designed by Kimberly Hutchinson that is found in the Oct. 2017 Main Kit and the exclusive PL card found in the Oct. 2017 PL Kit I thought it would be pretty to focus on the pretty delicate leaves in the PL card so I added one of the Hip Kit exclusive wood veneer leaves, a cut file leaf and a puffy sticker leaf from Pinkfresh Studio!  For the focal point I used a Pinkfresh tag and die cut!

I encourage you to take a few pieces from your kits and try making a card.  I kept it very simple and looked for small themes I could build on, like leaves in the chin up card or pinks in the on my heart card or using the gold in the pursue magic die cut to dictate the theme of that card and using color theory to pair it with the teal for a lovely contrast!
