Happy Thursday everyone! Today Cara, Jessica and Ashley have some great inspiration for you using the fabulous exclusive Hip Kit products. There are always fantastic exclusives in the kits including alpha stickers, papers, Project Life cards and epoxy buttons. Let’s see what the ladies have created with their exclusives.
Hi to all the planner girls and would-be planner girls! I’m so happy you’re here. I’m in my Commit30 planner today and I designed a happy, fun and very summery spread for you.
I love adding clusters around the page. It’s a great way to add colour and dimension to your spreads without adding bulk to the places where you are likely to write. Keeping the clusters and bulk to the outer edges of your planner will leave the writing spaces smooth and bump free for writing in your appointments, tasks and deadlines.
In this first cluster I used the HKC exclusive Yellow Puffy Alpha Sitckers, such a fun, happy colour. I layered them over some black and white Thickers and added a chipboard phrase from Amy Tangerine’s On a Whim collection to finish off a title for my spread. Vicki Boutin’s label stickers are layered underneath, they give a great background for titles and clusters. I tucked a piece of a blue and white striped exclusive Project Life card underneath (this pattern is repeated in two other places on the spread). Some Puffy Stars and Puffy Shape stickers from Bella Bvld along with some accent stickers from Crate Paper’s Oasis finish off this cluster.
I added a colourful exclusive HKC Project Life card as a tip-in and decorated the back with cut up pieces of other cards. You don’t have to only use Project Life cards for Project life! I like to use them as a I would patterned paper too!
This cluster starts with 2 more Project Life cards that have been cut and used as patterned paper. Layered on top are label stickers and ephemera from Vicki Boutin, Puffy Stars and Puffy Shape stickers from Bella Bvld, and some stickers from Crate Paper.
The HKC Exclusive buttons are fabulous for making planner clips. Sandwiching a clip between two buttons, back to back allows you to have two different designs and depending on your mood or the colours of your spread, you can use either side. I always add a thicker layer of hot glue between the buttons so that they can lay straight and not angle inwards towards each other because of the clip. You can see this a lot more clearly in the video below. I’ve also added a strip of the HKC Exclusive – By the Sea paper to the top of the page.
The curve of the paper clip can be cleverly hidden in the shape of the outlined star from the Bella Bvld Puffy Stars, so I was able to make anther clip with two Puffy Star stickers. However the metal ends of the clip are glued up under the star, limiting how far the clip can open. this clip won’t hold much so it’ll be purely decorative, and that’s great because it’s so freakin’ cute!
I also added Vicki Boutin’s Decorative ‘TODAY’ clip to the top of the page to follow the day through out the week.
Ok, it’s your turn to decorate your planner for summer. Planner Girl, let’s do this!
HAPPY PLANNING!
2) Jessica:
Hey everyone, it’s Jessica with you now – sharing a summery monthly mini album that I made. Off the page projects are always a nice alternative to layouts which I normally create, and it was one of my assigments for today. Now, I love all the project life cards, but I don’t do Project Life, so I always try to give them some spotlight in my mini albums. Here’s the album I came up with:
I used the exclusive thickers as my title – this album is supposed to hold all my july memories, that’s why it’s not complete yet and I can only show you one page. I reccomend creating albums in advance so all you have to do is filling them with pictures, that way you can keep up a lot easier. It takes the stress out of creating.
I cut out the ice cream cone shape using a notebook that I have – I just traced the lines and cut out the covers using chipboard. As you can see, I covered the edges with foiled washi tape, that way it looks nice and clean, giving the album a nice finish. For the inserts, I used all the colors from the cardstock add on – I love those colors and a mini is a great way to showcase the monthly color scheme. To bind my album, I used the WRMK Cinch.
Here’s an example of how I build my pages. My title and subtitle (PL card) goes to the left side and explains the pocture of the right side. My journaling is added below the picture until I reach the very bottom of the ice cream cone – never mind the wrong date I added there, it was supposed to say 7, not 6, lol.
I painted the ice cream cone by the way, using acrylics. As the layers were still wet and thick, I traced the lines of the waffle with a pallette knife, that’s how I got them to be thin and white. The most fun part was definitely choosing the colors for my ice cream – I love how it turned out. Are you going to create an ice cream mini as well? If yes, I need to see it!
I hope you feel inspired to create a monthly mini album for a change,
xox,
Jessy

Hey y’all! I have two fun projects with you all featuring the HKC Exclusives from our kits this month.
I absolutely love all of the color that come in these kits each month, and this month is no exception.
To start, I created a Memory Planner spread. I started with several of the HKC Exclusive PL cards from the PL Kit this month. I also added a few of the exclusive puffy stickers, along with a few other elements from Amy Tangerine’s (On A Whim) sticker book and ephemera pack.
At the top of the page, I added “July” in the exclusive alphas and I just loved the way this turned out.
I hope you all love the way this spread came out 🙂
For my second project, I created a PL spread using some of the exclusive cards and this time, I pulled in a little more from the rest of the kits.
Can we just take a moment to talk about these exclusive chipboard embellishments? Y’all. I love the flexibility, along with the dimension of these. They are just right. Not too dimensional but not flat. LOVE THEM. I also added these around the page too! 🙂
Hope y’all love this one too!
Thank you guys so much for stopping by! Leave us a comment telling us your favorite exclusive in this month’s kit! 🙂
Don’t forget to check out my process videos for these projects! 🙂
XOXO
